Titanic – Hagen

HAGEN by Titanic is the second full-length collaboration between Guatemalan cellist and vocalist Mabe Fratti and Mexican guitarist Héctor Tosta (aka I. la Católica). The album pushes their sound into bold new territory, combining experimental textures—muted guitar scrapes, distorted cello, shifting rhythms—with moments of melodic clarity and pop-inflected passages. Throughout its ten tracks, the duo explore contrasts: between dense atmosphere and open space, tension and release, fragility and force. Opener “Lágrima del Sol” sets a dramatic tone, while other tracks such as “Gotera,” “Pájaro de fuego,” and “Gallina degollada” showcase their growing command of both melody and surprise.

HAGEN also marks further artistic growth for Titanic: in production, arrangement, and emotional complexity. Fratti’s voice and cello remain central, but there’s more room for dynamic shifts, expanded soundscapes, and expressive details—synths, unexpected percussion, moments of pop shimmer. The album feels cohesive, vivid, and ambitious, balancing experimental risk with accessibility. It stands as a strong statement of where Titanic are now—confident in their craft, unafraid to challenge listeners, yet deeply committed to beauty and atmosphere.
